Summary:

Responsible for generating accurate sales forecast information which will ensure the creation of appropriate purchase orders or transmission of appropriate information to the suppliers. Responsible for managing a defined set of vendor lines managed across all Distribution Centers.  Manage item level SKU replenishment process and all attribute related changes and responds to issues.  Responsible for making stock/ non-stock decisions.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Review and modify demand forecasts for inventory items using purchasing systems and reporting tools.

  • Responsible for managing all vendor lines across all DC's to include incentive programs, vendor minimums, ordering days, item ordering requirements, and others as required.

  • Review overselling/underselling SKUs on a weekly basis.  Makes adjustments to forecasts as necessary.  

  • Manages the “At Risk” SKU process.  Requirements include running the reports on a regular basis, making adjustments to sales forecasts, expedite product, review/revise ordering attributes as needed.

  • Manages item change process for Custom Packs, including sub-rules and unit of measure changes.  Ensures purchasing systems remain in alignment with item attributes.

  • Creates and approves purchase orders for respective vendors and ensure orders are transmitted/communicated to Suppliers. 

  • Initiate/monitor Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT's) in response to critical stock out situations and partial case non-stock orders.

  • Manages DC inventory spend by approving inventory replenishment PO’s across multiple DCs. 

  • Review service level data by Supplier, top service level issue items, and apparent root cause service level reports to identify potential problems and adjust demand forecasts, inventory item ordering rules and Supplier ordering rules as required

  • Handle discontinued/sub-rule/price discrepancies through PMF Workflow

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 2+ years of Forecasting & Buying experience

  • Previous experience dealing with root cause analysis

  • Experience with Power BI or a similar product

  • Candidate that will succeed here will be able to work Independently, be self-sufficient and an outside the box thinker

  • Role based in Mechanicsville, VA or Carol Stream, IL
