Job Description:

Objective         
Demonstrate insurance knowledge and principles along with providing excellent customer service to the highest level possible to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

This position entails servicing commercial lines accounts. This position will not have an assigned book of business.  This position also requires detailed, accurate and courteous service to our customers, fellow employees and company personnel.  Each Account Manager shall grow and develop his/her talents and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible. 
 

Essential Functions         

Directly responsible for the daily service requirements according to written Agency Standard Operating Procedures including, but not limited to:

Manage:


  • Servicing of commercial lines accounts after initial sale.

  • Renewal process with incumbent carrier.

  • Marketing of new and renewal business.

  • Binding coverage as instructed.

  • Applications, renewal requests, policies, endorsements, audits and all other daily service.

  • Maintaining the Agency Management Systems, and keep client records up to date including Proposals, Spreadsheets, Summaries, Statement of Values, Schedules, etc.  

  • Workers’ Compensation Experience Modifications.

  • Past due accounts and contact insured and/or producer as needed.

  • Cross sales and account rounding.

Prepare:


  • Pre-Renewal documents for review.

  • Proposals and Rate Comparisons for presentation.

Other:


  • Assist Producers at all times.

  • Assist other Account Managers as needed, including taking calls from the client if the usual Account Manager is not available.

  • Assisting other agency departments in securing and/or providing information necessary to issue appropriate policies in their department for which we have a mutual client.

  • Keeping producers informed of all-important activities on their accounts including being sensitive to potential problems and informing management.

  • Complete all other essential functions as assigned.

  • Complete tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Knowledge of Vertafore Agency Management products is preferred.

Education and/or Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Customer Service experience required.

  • Thorough understanding of insurance industry, commercial underwriting, products and coverage

  • Must be fully licensed as a Fire & Casualty Broker/Agent and license must be maintained (Continuing education required).

  • Continue to develop his/her talents and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible.

Position Type        

This is a full-time non-exempt position.  The Agency provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt employees in accordance with State and Federal laws. 

Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The Agency may occasionally schedule a “work Saturday” where the office may be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or as determined by management.  Employees may volunteer or be required to work.   

Work Environment
