STAFF ASSISTANT III - BINDERY AND STANDING ORDERS RECEIVING at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

Working in the University Libraries’ Acquisitions Department, this position coordinates the processing of all monograph (book) receipts and payments for approval plans, receiving and processing payment for monographic standing orders and microforms. The position serves as a liaison between the Acquisitions Department and other library departments, branch libraries, and vendors concerning status of orders.  Position corresponds with vendors and reconciles any discrepancies of materials received and/or inaccuracies of invoices. Serves as backup to the Administrative Assistant I, inputting invoices into Laserfiche.

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience AND:


  • 12 to 24 months of office/clerical experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email.

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to lift/carry up to thirty pounds and push loaded book trucks. Regular bending, stretching, reaching, sitting stooping. Must be able to communicate effectively. Ability to sit and work at a computer monitor for up to eight hours.

Departmental Preferences:


  • Relevant library experience.
