Position Description:
AMETEK in Wallingford, CT manufacture high purity metal strip, engineered shaped components and specialty wire. They are global leaders in high purity materials via wrought powder metallurgy with numerous patents in technically advanced metallurgical materials. Industries served include aerospace, electronics, flux cored weld wire, medical, superconductors, mining and drilling.

The Wallingford, CT plant is seeking a safety conscious Quality Technician to join the team to perform quality tests on incoming raw material and finished product.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform tests at specific stages in production for properties such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical, chemical characteristics, and performs final inspection.
• Generate chemistry, thermal expansion and other quality tests as required and performs analysis and provides recommendations as required.
• Prepare and evaluate test results and make all necessary changes for certification of material.
• Prepare and evaluate metallurgical mounts, generating reports as required.
• Prepare and complete powder testing, including screening and processing of bars.
• Understand and operate all quality related testing equipment as well as assist in maintaining and servicing equipment.
• Maintain records and certification files for all incoming raw material.
• Coordinate outside testing of materials.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in material engineering or other technical discipline preferred
• A minimum of 3 years technical experience in metals manufacturing environment
• Experience using ISO 9001:2015 preferred
• Experience using micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
• Mechanical aptitude and mathematical knowledge
