Fabrication Associate II - $16.00, 1st Shift

Overview

Job Description Summary:

This position will perform duties required to meet production demands. This position will be responsible operating brake press machines, in-process inspection and cleaning operations required in the manufacturing of steel fabrication. Work may involve any of the following: assist in set-up process and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet steel. This position will report to Operations Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position will consist of, but not limited to, the following:

Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions
• Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers


• Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet steel products


• Select gauges and types of sheet steel or non-metallic material, according to product specifications


• Drill and punch holes in metal


• Operate machinery used in steel fabrication


• Trim, file, grind, debar, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints, using hand tools and portable power tools


• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 
  Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


• 
  Computer Skills Basic computer skills necessary


•

•

Preferred Requirements:

• 
  Education: Associates Degree in Metal Fabrication


• 
  Work Experience: 1 Year of prior work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
