Job Description

We are seeking an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect / Engineer for a globally distributed, diverse and inclusive environment in Authentication, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). You will take a lead role in designing and delivering a next-generation authentication platform for the firm's global clients and customers consistent with firm and industry best-practices, standards and architectural patterns. Embedded within the engineering team as their design authority, you will take the primary responsibility for architecture and design services for the platform. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, show initiative and be familiar with all technical aspects of large scale deployments working closely with multiple disparate teams to deliver performant and scalable solutions to Production environments.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities in order to successfully perform the following key responsibilities:


  • Drive the design and build of the next-generation platform consistent with firm and industry best-practices, standards and architectural patterns.
  • Work closely with Product, Architectural, Controls, and line-of-business Application teams to translate business, technical and controls requirements into implementable designs.
  • Educate the Engineering teams to ensure understanding of the platform's end-to-end design and ensure gaps and dependencies between module/components are identified and solutioned.
  • Provide implementation review services to the Engineering teams to ensure the platform is consistent with requirements and cybersecurity controls.
  • Present and lead discussions of the platform's architecture and design to external stakeholders such as Auditors.

Essential Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering and architectural experience in medium to large enterprises.
  • Minimum of two (2) and preferably three (3) years of architecture or design authority experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) and preferably three (3) years of hands-on engineering or programming experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and associated technologies.
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth and OIDC and management protocols such as SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).
  • Ability to work in and with large collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture.
  • Hands on experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.

Desired Requirements/Skills:

  • Expertise in Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and passwordless authentication technologies and products.
  • Experience with cryptography, encryption and related data protection concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with data modelling and both LDAP and relational data schema design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory and privacy requirements as they relate to financial services enterprises.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD automation tools and test-automation and test-driven-development.
