Location Profile


Our state-of-the-art sponge plant in Henderson, Nevada converts rutile ore to the highest-quality titanium sponge through our unique Vacuum Distillation Process (20-million pound annual capacity). Using Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) furnaces, the Henderson plant has the capacity to melt up to 30 million pounds of ingot per year. TIMET pioneered triple VAR melting to produce titanium ingot that meets the critical rotating jet engine quality specifications. Research and Development facilities located at the Henderson plant are the most extensive and productive in the industry. Position Summary


Continually improve the Maintenance Process and reduce costs, while complying with all government regulations, applicable codes and standards.




Primary Duties & Responsibilities


Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving preventive maintenance programs in order to support the improvement of equipment reliability and throughput.
Responsible for electrical safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
Lead in the development, implementation, and upgrade of the Maintenance Repair Procedures.
Lead in the development, implementation, and upgrade of TIMET's Predictive Maintenance Program including Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, and Infrared Thermography. Provide monthly reports on activities.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation so as to minimize downtime and lost production.
Assure plant-wide compliance with TIMET's Mechanical/ Electrical Integrity Program. Maintain associated files and provide monthly reports on activities.
Maintain maintenance cost figures and provide monthly cost avoidance reports.
Responsible for analyzing production delay data for establishing and documenting or modifying preventive maintenance tasks. Generate continuous improvement projects based on production delay data.
Develop and maintain a list of "target" equipment with excessive maintenance costs.
Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports and determine/evaluate corrective action items and the impact of corrective action items to the preventive maintenance programs.
Determine the root cause and develop a plan to abate the problem. Monitor and report progress monthly.
Determine and install appropriate performance metrics that will promote long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with the operating objectives of the department.
Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
Support TIMET's Computerized Maintenance Management System. Provide management reports as required.
Train TIMET's maintenance personnel in special maintenance procedures.
Lead improvement projects from start to completion.




Experience & Education


Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred BSEE)

3 - 5 years progressive experience as a Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Good working knowledge of Manufacturing Codes and Standards including ASME, ASTM, ANSI, etc.






Required Skills


Proficient with computer skills.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Be able to fill in as Maintenance Manager when required.
Be a team player
