The Compliance Operations Manager - Data Protection is a key member of the Global Data Protection Office - Products Team



Job Description

This position can be based out of our Chicago Headquarters or be at a Remote/Offsite Location in the U.S.

The Compliance Operations Manager - Data Protection reports to the Director, Data Protection Compliance and is responsible for the following:


  • Establish automated company-wide operational processes to measure product/service compliance to relevant data protection, laws, standards and policies ("frameworks"), track gaps to framework compliance and remediation efforts. Establish and facilitate execution of automated compliance assessment procedures.


  • Implement, define governance and manage Hyperproof compliance operations tool, in collaboration with key stakeholders, to achieve automation of 1) a compliance controls evidence library, and 2) "cross-walking" of relevant data protection laws, standards and policies to the MSI Common Controls Baseline.


  • Provide training and assistance to product managers and engineers for use of Hyperproof. Advise product managers and engineers (or direct them to relevant experts) with respect to compliance with individual compliance controls.


  • Develop proficiency in data protection program management tool, OneTrust and coordinate and manage potential integration of tool with Hyperproof and LogicGate GRC tool. Establish governance for coordination and use of integrated tool set.


  • Define, refine and scale company-wide Privacy Compliance operating processes (i.e. privacy control testing, issue management, change management, certification). Define processes for


  • Design, implement and maintain scalable compliance operations with a well-documented roadmap, goals and objectives


  • Develop and improve testing procedures to measure and improve the effectiveness of privacy controls in the MSI Common Controls Baseline. Evaluate, evolve and create program controls and protocols working with legal and privacy product teams


  • Develop and manage metrics to drive continuous improvement to compliance operating models


  • Develop long-term objectives of how we will evolve our privacy program operating model while delivering on immediate priorities


  • Become a trusted partner working and influencing cross-functionally with leadership, engineer, product and business teams building a deep understanding of how their teams work, their needs and how privacy compliance can be operationalized into their teams


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • 10+ years operations, program management or IT experience


  • Bachelor's degree with preferred focus in business, operations, IT, technology or similar discipline or equivalent job experience


  • Hold at least one security and/or privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPT, CISM, CISSP


  • Basic technical skills including an understanding of APIs and data analytics


  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and launch process improvements that have a significant, positive, business impact.


  • Experience evaluating operational performance, building forecasts and finding creative solutions to operating constraints.


  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining scalable compliance operations a plus


  • Proven track record of delivering organizational transformational change


  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines


  • Knowledge and exposure to the following standards, laws or policies, NIST 800-53 r5, ISO 27001 et seq., ISO 27701, SOC2, CJIS, GDPR, CCPA


  • General understanding of cloud industry technologies IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms


  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and drive initiatives at multiple levels.


  • Proven ability to quickly gain trust, negotiate business objectives, have constructive debate, and work directly with a broad group of personnel


  • Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones to foster a cohesive and creative work environment
