The Cloud Systems Engineer (CSE) will be responsible for advanced technical and operational support of server operating systems and cloud infrastructure resources (compute, storage, subnets) in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The CSE works proactively to ensure the highest levels of systems and cloud infrastructure availability. The CSE will work closely with Site Reliability Engineers to deliver standard, automated server builds and application installs to power an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) delivery model. The CSE will work with Application Analysts, Technical Business Analysts and Project Managers to develop and document requirements for application and operating system configuration, testing, validation, and deployments. The CSE is responsible for delivering operating system platforms and installed systems that meet business needs, deadlines and objectives for regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, validate, maintain and monitor operating systems, application software and system management tools with automation.
Maintain expanding portfolio of enterprise systems and their upgrades, patches, maintenance tasks, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and availability of sites and services.
Serve as liaison with business stakeholders for all enterprise application platforms.
Partner with stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, while meeting business needs and deadlines.
Manage software and application configurations in source control.
Oversee the implementation and configuration of new and upgraded systems (i.g. patches and releases). Run tests to ensure that systems meet success metrics.
Automate and monitor backups and restore processes; practice Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios through participation in regularly scheduled outage simulation events.
Manage a fleet of AWS EC2 virtual machines, provision AWS EBS and S3 storage, manage Transfer for SFTP sites, provision IP address spaces, and monitor VPC network flow logs.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to investigate, diagnose, and solve complex problems quickly is required.
Diagnose networking errors leveraging network logs and packet capture/analyzer tools.
System support for 3+ Level for installed systems; troubleshoot and coordinate operating system and application issue resolution, as identified by system generated alarms or system users.
Provide support documentation and training for Level 1+ support staff as needed.
On-call rotation for critical escalations to handle production outages.
Continuously collect objective evidence of operating system and application configurations to satisfy audits, compliance objectives and regulatory requirements for Install Qualification and Operating Qualification (IQ/OQ).
Work with Information Technology management and staff to develop and maintain standards, processes, and documentation.
Support systems for continuous validation of applications and operating systems.
Responsible for configuration changes to support business processes and following change management practices.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
1+ years of experience with supporting multiple layers of the OSI model; or 2 years of relevant classroom experience in lieu of professional experience.
1+ years of experience with application, server or desktop troubleshooting; or 2 years of relevant classroom experience in lieu of professional experience.
1+ years of experience with user administration; or 2 years of relevant classroom experience in lieu of professional experience.
1+ years of experience with technical issue tracking and providing technical support to stakeholders.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Microsoft Windows Server and Linux (i.g. Ubuntu) administration and engineering.
2+ years of experience in systems engineering.
2+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud environments.
