HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement: Design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.

Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Lead mid to long range focus factory capacity planning.

  • Support short range focus factory capacity planning.

  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.

  • Lead lean manufacturing / lead time reduction activities within the focus factory.

  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

Additional Accountabilities:


  • Discuss with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.

  • Review and verify quote standards on a quarterly basis at a minimum.

  • Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action and control.

  • Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.

  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote safe and efficient staff and facility utilization.

  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and utilities.

  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.

  • Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.

  • Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated <10%).

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

  • Less than One (1) year of related experience is required; One (1) or more years of related experience is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Work Environment:

  • The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.
