The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is committed to its mission “To ensure a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all.” Our agency embraces the insightful use of our natural resources to assure the continued safety, happiness and prosperity of Ohio’s people.

ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Shooting Range Attendant within the Division of Wildlife, headquartered at the Delaware Shooting Range & Training Center, assigned to Delaware County. What you will do… 

• Ensures safety of visitors, resources and property at the shooting ranges


• Promotes the use of ODNR Shooting Range facilities for handgun, shotgun & archery activities (e.g., registers & observes shooters, monitors shooting in progress, assists handicapped shooters, & enforces range safety rules)


• Performs general maintenance &/or repairs on state-owned property (e.g., shooting & archery ranges, wildlife area & public use facilities)


• Performs maintenance on grounds, parking lot, general equipment & vehicle inspection & maintenance & maintains applicable records


• Assist & contact Wildlife Officers to provide information necessary for issuing citations &/or making arrest for violations or non-compliance of shooting range rules (e.g., wildlife area regulations) 


• Distributes information & answers questions (e.g., range, hunting information & wildlife areas)
