We're seeking an extraordinary, seasoned Media Buyer to work within our corporate marketing team.You will be bringing a new discipline to the organization. You will be helping formalize this function while also helping grow its contribution and vision within the marketing department. Your experience, best practices, intellectual rigor, and ingenuity will be essential to the success of this endeavor.
Scorpion is planning to escalate its national presence and will need a media buyer that knows how to achieve that while also contributing to our lead generation efforts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to media plans and other related initiatives
Organize a paid media function
Establish/reinforce relationships with national media outlets (digital,
traditional, and nontraditional) on behalf of Scorpion
Negotiate media rates, placement, value add, and other impactful components of delivery by the media for the most cost-efficient and cost-effective results
Identify and establish media analytics and buying tools for the function
Have a working knowledge of all aspects of media pertaining to market conditions and target audience delivery
Manage all media agreements and contracts, as well as ensure all negotiated criteria are met or exceeded
Understand the fundamentals of a media plan (and the ability to contribute to it) and its target audience strategy regarding demographic, geographic, psychographic, and behavioral targets to be reached
Working with all types of media and drive their ability to deliver certain audiences against overall objectives, as well as industry research and analytical tools/resources
Manage all paid media budgets, insertions, invoicing, and payment in conjunction with the finance department
Present media updates and ongoing processes
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of ad/media agency experience
National media plan placement and negotiations
Management of $10+ million budgets
Established track record of successful media buying with various national media outlets (traditional, digital and non-traditional, including sponsorships)
Consumer and BtoB brand experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ample experience contributing to a media plan, implementing it regarding negotiating selected media at targeted levels, and ensuring the media buy delivers as promised
Working knowledge of all media (digital, traditional and non-traditional) on a national scale, as well as fair market value for various media insertions, allotments, levels, etc.
Skilled in negotiating the best cost-efficient and budget-conscious advertising space, time, sponsorships, or product placements
Practical experience in the fundamentals of a media plan and its target audience(s) regarding demographic, geographic, psychographic, and behavioral targets
Knowledge of and experience working with media research and analytical tools
Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage numerous external relationships (media outlets and other resources) in a professional, fair and respectful manner
Analytical thinking, persuasion, and research abilities are essential
Ability to build various reports and analysis in a form for other team members to understand and use
Excellent presentation skills to convey ideas and concepts with ample experience
A sense of humor and ability to inspire those around you
