Now hiring for a Production Supervisor for our 2nd Shift. Working hours will be 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM Monday thru Friday and Overtime will be required as business needs require. This role will train on 1st Shift until the 2nd Shift is ready to go live. Candidates who have schedule flexibility for 4+ weeks minimum are encouraged to apply. As a Production Supervisor you will be counted on to lead, direct, mentor, coach and develop our new team as well as train associates on day to day operations. Additionally this role will drive and motivate the team to reach production goals and ensure associates are cross trained while adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

Production Supervisor has full responsibility for the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Performance for their assigned value stream

Responsible for:


  • Building and nurturing the team through excellent two-way communication and engaging associates to meet or exceed performance KPI.

  • Developing Coordinators to be future leaders through mentoring. Empowering them to own all material movement and be a first responder to operator production needs.

  • Ensuring all employees are trained to perform the required job functions. Driving cross-training to minimize the impact of vacation and absence.

  • Addressing employees’ personal and work-related issues, including issuing progressive disciplinary action, if appropriate.

  • Enforcing company policies and procedures.

  • Ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition and all safety concerns are immediately addressed.

  • Meeting schedule delivery commitments through adjusting staffing to balance work-flow to maximize throughput.

  • Working closely with other Supervisors to share resources as needed to ensure cut convergence at shipping.

  • Monitoring chronic bottleneck operations\jobs and upcoming product mix to ensure controls are in place to respond to work-flow issues.

  • Monitoring value stream productivity to identify and resolve problem areas.

  • Driving productivity improvement through process innovation, teamwork and operator engagement.

  • Ensuring compliance to ISO 9001 Procedures and Production Work Instructions.

  • Monitoring value stream and operator quality performance and drive actions toward improvement.

  • Utilizing a structured problem solving methodology to ensure preventive\corrective actions are focused on the true root cause – not a symptom.



Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities:


  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position – directing people and work-flow in value stream setting


  • Stitching background preferred and/or experience with garment, textiles or industrial sewing manufacturing operations

  • Experience managing 20-30 employees

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Ability to coach, develop, cross train and mentor staff

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Proficient with AS400, Microsoft Office Word and Excel 2010

  • ISO 9001 quality standards

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting and managing via KPI's

  • Associates Degree or Higher

  • Must be willing to train for 4+ weeks from 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday and OT including Saturdays as required
