Job Description:

The Scripps National Team is looking for an aggressive and innovative National Digital Content Producer.

The National Digital Content Producer will be based in Denver, and organizes, writes scripts and updates content on digital platforms with a primary focus on local websites, mobile apps, and social media platforms. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience at being able to gather large amounts of data and content from multiple sources and platforms to create a cohesive story in a timely manner.

The National Digital Content Producer is responsible for creating compelling content that is aligned with and enhances stories for publication on websites affiliated with E.W. Scripps Company.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Post stories for publication on websites affiliated with E.W. Scripps Company.


  • Understand AP style, as well as other best practices for online news publication, including writing compelling headlines and SEO best practices. 


  • Manage social media accounts, while ensuring best practices for social media publication are executed and writing optimal captions.


  • Write and distribute national breaking news stories to affiliate websites.


  • Manage live streams on websites and social media, including Facebook and Twitter.


  • Pitch story ideas daily during editorial calls with digital team.


  • Identify trending content to write and source.


  • Edit web content submitted by national correspondents.


  • Create video on Final Cut Pro and images on Photoshop or additional web-based tools.


  • Knowledge of web metric tools, including Google Analytics and CrowdTangle.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred.


  • 2-years minimum experience of digital content producing and showcasing required.

  • Must have basic HTML formatting skills and knowledge of how to FTP/publish web content. 


  • Must be creative, have good people skills and be able to handle deadline pressure and need to multi-task. 


  • Must have strong newspaper-style writing, editing and headline skills. 


  • Must have photo editing skills with ability to manipulate, crop, enhance images as needed for publishing on website. 


  • Basic video editing skills a plus.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00
