Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Bridge Engineer with 10+ years' experience for our Fort Myers, Florida office. As a Structural Engineer/Bridge Engineer you will serve in a lead technical role for bridge design and other transportation structure projects.
What you'll do:
Perform structural planning, analysis, design, and load rating for transportation projects.
Provide supervision, mentoring, guidance, and training to team members
Perform quality reviews of team members' work.
Be viewed as a technical expert in structural engineering analysis and design as it relates to transportation projects.
Management and coordination of tasks for team members to keep projects on schedule and budget.
Lead and assist team members with the preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, design calculations, and load ratings for multiple concurrent projects.
Assist with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration
Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to become licensed within 6 months
10+ years' experience, on new bridge and bridge rehabilitation projects, including plan and specification preparation, analysis, and design.
Experience with FDOT, Lee County and/or Collier County Transportation Sections.
Planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of a project team.
Proficient knowledge of MIDAS, STAAD, LEAP Concrete, AASHTOWare or other structural analysis and design software is desirable.
Must be knowledgeable with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication and technical skills.
Be active in technical societies and professional organizations.
