Doctoral degree in nursing required or doctoral degree in associated field with baccalaureate degree in nursing. Specialization as a Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Required Related Experience

Minimum of two years of full time or equivalent experience employed as a nurse practitioner within the past 5 years.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Active Kentucky license as a registered nurse or ability to obtain license by date of hire.

Active Kentucky Board of Nursing ( KBN ) certification as a Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or ability to obtain certification by date of hire.

Job Summary

The University Of Kentucky College Of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (12-month) position in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) Graduate Program. This tenure track position includes developing, coordinating, and teaching content in a DNP graduate program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Position duties require classroom and online instruction; supervision of graduate students in clinical settings; advising students; involvement on college committees; clinical scholarship and membership in professional organizations, as well as service in clinical practice. This position will also collaborate with UK HealthCare.

Qualifications include a doctor of nursing practice ( DNP ), or doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree and hold a current certification as an advance practice nurse and eligible for licensure as an advance practice registered nurse ( APRN ) in the state of Kentucky. The successful candidate must have an active Kentucky RN license, or ability to obtain license by date of hire. A minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent experience employed as an APRN is required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, clinical practice and service.
