Job Description:

H2M Architects + Engineers , a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks a senior level Interior Architect to join our team.

Job Responsibilities
•Meeting and interacting independently with clients to establish project requirements, scope and budgets and with discussing all interior design project related issues.
•Responding to RFP's, writing proposals and soliciting new work.
•Development of high level conceptual design concepts and programming
•Space planning, material selections, furniture selection and procurement, millwork design and documentation and lighting layout and conceptual design
•Design development and construction documentation
•Conduct code compliance studies
•Budget estimating / value engineering
•Possess strong design skill to be able to develop and implement design concepts considering construction methodology and the ability to coordinate construction drawings, including details, schedules and specifications
•Have knowledge of all design phases of commercial projects of varying sizes and complexities from conception through construction
•Conceptual design skills to assist in responding to the needs of our clients and ultimately provide exciting solutions to our integrated design teams
•Mentors the work of junior staff
•Manage contract administration budget for assigned projects
•Should possess strong client service abilities
•Must have experience with meeting and interacting independently with clients to establish project requirements, scope and budgets and with discussing all interior design project related issues
•Experience with writing proposals and establishing interior design scopes of work
•Responsible for growing the Interior Architecture and Design department

Education and Qualifications
•15 or more years' experience in the field of Interior Architecture or Interior Design
•Proficient in responding to RFP's and writing proposals
•Strong creative design portfolio
•Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
•Strong organizational, time management & multitasking skills
•Technical understanding of materials and the building process to facilitate detailing and construction documentation
•Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design, Masters degree preferred
•Registered Architect or NCIDQ Certification required
•LEED AP preferred
