Summary

The Team Lead (TL) is responsible for the day-to-day front-line management of approximately 5 to 6 partners and reports directly into the Equity Trade Manager. The TL organizes the work of the team, interacts with clients, helps prioritize short- and long-term initiatives, has oversight of the client's Functional Tasks and Deliverables (FTDs), and promotes the career development of staff. We seek candidates who possess critical thinking and the organizational skills that contribute to identifying areas for improvements and propose viable solutions.

Major Duties

1. Recruit, train, mentor and develop employees.

2. Assist in defining performance standards, conduct performance reviews and handle salary administration.

3. Provide management, leadership and guidance to staff, creates an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, and communication.

4. Participate in the development of staffing and succession plans.

5. Proactively prepares to ensure an effective onboarding experience for new Partners.

6. Oversee the delivery of daily functions and tasks in order to meet client Service Level Agreements.

7. Engage in the generation, interpretation, and accuracy of Management Information Statistics (MIS) metrics.

8. Able to identify opportunities for improvement within existing technology applications while acting as a liaison with internal servicing groups to drive resolution.

9. Ensure appropriate operational controls are followed in order to manage and mitigate risk to Northern Trust.

10. Responsible for increasing knowledge of the IOO product & service delivery model.

11. Research, analyze and resolve complex client inquiries.

12. Assist in performing cost benefit and impact analysis related to the request for new client services.

13. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and / or internal business impact; delivers a work product that requires little revision.

14. Build working relationships with clients; be an advocate for the client.

15. Responsible for the delivery and continuous enhancement of IOO middle office operations and client services.

16. Serve as a point of escalation, maintain and monitor issues log and work to resolve client servicing issues in a timely manner.

17. Schedule and conduct Quarterly Service Reviews, Due Diligence meetings, and other Client meetings as required.

18. Responsible for understanding the client's business and needs / deliverables.

19. Responsible for obtaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of IOO products and services and how they are manufactured and delivered.

20. Ensures internal and Client issues are communicated and escalated in a timely manner.

21. Facilitate the Shared Services Engagement model, responsible for coordinating shared service delivery across NT servicing teams.

Knowledge / Skills

•Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred but not required

•Knowledge of financial services, asset management and / or investment operations

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Analytical and problem solving skills

•Highly flexible and adaptable to change

•Attention to detail

•Works with a sense of urgency





Experience Required

• A College or University degree and / or a minimum of 4 years of relevant proven work experience

• Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and / or Investment Operations experience a plus

• Previous client management and client service experience in a service oriented environment
