What we do:
The Data & Analytics Office (DAO) at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York drives the enterprise data and analytics strategy for the Bank and owns data policy and governance standards. The DAO is responsible for establishing a data foundation for the Bank, building capabilities while setting standards and measurements for data quality, compliance, security, and retention of our data assets. In addition, the DAO focuses on innovating through, and driving advanced analytics in collaboration across the System.
The Product Owner for the High-Performance Analytics Infrastructure connects the Technology Group to the business needs and ensures that the roadmap for product development aligns to that vision. As the Product Owner, you will set the strategic vision for the suite of tools, technologies and capabilities that will be required for the user personas at the Bank that will use this infrastructure to address their analytics and data science needs, in addition to owning and defining the roadmap by developing a deep understanding of the cross-business functions and building close relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including senior leaders). You will also be responsible for ensuring that the development teams' delivery plan is aligned with business needs, the Group's strategic roadmap, and delivers business value measured by specific business KPIs.
This role will report to the Advanced Analytics Lead in the Data & Analytics Office.
Your role as Product Owner:
Set ambitious and clear vision for Product(s) and communicate user stories effectively to stakeholders, their squad, and the rest of the tech organization.
Integrates vision, strategy, and roadmap across or within products and aligns with the needs of the key stakeholders across various businesses.
Creates product roadmap and defines the strategic vision for the high-performance analytics squad, driven by the overall vision
End to end squad output strategy from inception to production
Collaborates with the Technology Group stakeholders to prioritize Product(s)/platform features and ensure delivery aligns with product requirements
Work on squad to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary
As part of strategy execution,
Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their squad; maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the squad
Works closely with the business stakeholders to establish the platform's business value and support messaging, communication, and outreach to the user personas/business stakeholders, as necessary
Facilitate release planning with stakeholders as well as periodic demos of capabilities delivered
Align outward facing product requirements and stakeholders; a strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress; demonstrates passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas
What we are looking for:
Professional Experience
Experience in the Fintech and/or Financial Services industry, with specific knowledge centered on data discovery, advanced analytics, and technology operations
Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech and business
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus
A strong understanding of data concepts and analytical requirements across different product lines (requires subject area domain experience)
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams from technology, business, and national business lines. For external candidates, demonstrated experience with having worked with cross-functional business, technology and infrastructure teams. In addition, a deep understanding and knowledge of customer business processes, their use of data and associated platforms and how they leverage these assets to generate new insights.
Domain Expertise
Familiarity (working experience with) with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure) leveraging programming languages, and deployment of statistical & machine learning models
Experience with big data tools and technologies, covering both structured and unstructured data, and using these technologies to build and support data scientists to build, operate and run models using different programming languages
Knowledge of AWS Cloud Data related services, Java, Python or other relevant programming skills is preferable
Agile / Digital Experience
Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
Deep experience leading with teams in an agile setting
