Job Description:

In 1985, Koch Foods started as a one-room chicken de-boning and cutting operation with 13 employees. We’ve grown to be one of the top poultry processors in the U.S., but the core of who we are remains unchanged: a team that is adept, reliable and service oriented.

The Chick Culler ensures only highest quality chicks are provided to Company's contract growers through inspection and removal of non-viable chicks.

Hours:

Monday 2:00 am - 11:30 am

Tuesday 2:00 am - 1:00 pm

Thursday 2:00 am - 11:30 am

Friday 2:00 am - 1:00 pm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Remove substandard chicks 

  • Remove egg shells from processing belt

  • Other relevant duties as required

Physical/Environmental Factors:


  • Walk, stand and perform physical labor majority of work shift

  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend

  • Exposure to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 100%

  • Use of personal protective equipment is required

  • Exposure to wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environmental conditions

  • Exposure to chicken odors, including ammonia

  • High School Diploma preferred

  • Previous hatchery experience preferred

  • Able to work assigned hours/days, including occasional weekends as required

  • Ability to lift 4+ lbs, and push 75+ lbs
