We currently have an opening for aFacilities & Maintenance Manager.

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for all facilities, maintaining the machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds, as well as managing and directing the maintenance staff and overseeing the availability of spare parts and supplies to support the safe and efficient operation of the Pelican BioThermal US Manufacturing. This position supports 6S, along with preventive and corrective maintenance activities and supports continuous improvement initiatives. This position will partner closely with our Safety Manager to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

What You'll Do:


  • Manages all facility aspects of Pelican BioThermal US Corporate Offices and manufacturing

  • Directs the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machines, buildings, grounds for all shifts and manages the work order system. Maintains all necessary maintenance records and prepares required reports to monitor preventive maintenance and equipment effectiveness. Drives improvement.

  • Contracts with outside vendors for new equipment installation, equipment repairs and abnormal maintenance. Assures that all contractors are trained in safety matters and that insurance certificates are on file.

  • Coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing on special projects and new equipment installations.

  • Forecasts maintenance plan (personnel, equipment, and space requirements).

  • Maintains a preventive maintenance program for machines, equipment, buildings, and grounds. Maintains preventive maintenance records for all equipment and recommends changes to improve equipment performance.

  • Maintains tool crib for maintenance. Establishes an adequate inventory of replacement and repair parts for equipment and machines. Oversees procurement of necessary parts.

  • Participates in establishing, maintaining, and training an effective plant emergency organization.

  • Stays up to date with "state of the art" equipment, software, and maintenance techniques.

  • Participates in understanding and adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations as well as ISO standards. Makes sure that equipment and processes meet all requirements and personnel follow all procedures. Initiates safety review on all new processes and/or equipment.

  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Conducts facility inspections, assigns, verifies, and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.

  • Directs, oversees, and maintains required documentation for the energy management and conservation and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Leads, manages, and communicates capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, and complying with contractor bidding standards.

  • Obtains required licenses and permits and ensures full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.

What You'll Need:


  • Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in maintenance of a manufacturing facility. Facilities experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Advanced knowledge in the electrical and mechanical fields, equipment and machine design, building and plant maintenance techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA and EPA requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be driven to maintain and seek to improve upon quality and production standards.

  • Customer focus and awareness of customer needs.

  • "Hands on" style, willing and capable of taking a lead role in technical problem-solving efforts.

  • Excellent teamwork and teambuilding skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to executive non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
