Job Description:

University Libraries seeks to recruit an Operations and Stacks Manager and Research Commons Supervisor.  This position oversees day-to-day operations of the Bizzell Library 5th floor Special Collections (BL5) and public service spaces. Operational functions back-of-the-house include coordination of personnel, payroll, supply processes, maintenance of statistics, filing systems, and annual reporting. This position supervises graduate research assistants and student library assistants. As Stacks Manager, this position manages processing of modern books and serials, serves as the main contact point for library technology, and supervises Sooner Express and Interlibrary Loan services. As Research Commons Supervisor, this position oversees activities in BL5 public spaces including the paging and use of research materials in the Reading Room and the staffing of help desks in the Foyer.

Required Education: Associate Degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience AND:


  • 18 - 36 months of administrative work experience

Department Preferences:


  • Bachelor’s degree, any subject area

  • Advanced writing and editing skills

  • Technological experience and advanced software skills

  • Proficient with Apple Mac OS

  • Project management experience

  • Reading knowledge of French, German, Latin, or other non-English language

  • Experience working with rare materials in a special collections environment
