If you are a Manufacturing & Operations professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Racine, WI location, you will facilitate project development, design and construction of equipment, tooling and assembly systems for current and new products. You will assist in implementation and assure production is maintained at encouraged levels and all equipment functions as planned at all facilities. You will specify and purchase capital manufacturing systems.  AS A MANUFACTURING ENGINEER I, YOU WILL: 


  • Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the Engineering job discipline.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through post-secondary education or experience.
  • Using engineering principles to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgements.
  • Ability to exchange information and ideas, ask questions, and self-check for understanding.
  • Assist with the placement of manufacturing systems and preparation of layout drawings and the necessary installation drawings.
  • Investigate current processes and develop better methods for quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Review design layouts, detail drawings, machine hydraulic, pneumatic and control drawings with appropriate personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and identify causes of operational problems.  Initiate and implement modifications or configuration changes associated with corrective action.
  • Attend seminars and manufacturing technology meetings, keeping abreast of technological advances for possible use in InSinkErator manufacturing and products.
  • Identify and document items necessary for repair and maintenance of equipment and tooling.
  • Work and communicate with other departments and vendors to accomplish required team assignments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Discipline, with mechanical or manufacturing preferred.  
  • Project management and team participation skills.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Exposure to high volume metal removal operations, press-working mild steel, stainless steel and brass, automated assembly, test, or packaging processes is desirable.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing methodologies and/or Kaizen events is desirable

Schedule
We offer the flexability of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensrure the chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.
