Perform Dispatch Functions at the CBC Fleet located in Houston
Determine boat requirements through barge orders and monitoring of local dock schedules.
Schedules Pelican Fleet Vessels to optimize service
Manage efficient vessel utilization, including spot horsepower requirements.
Coordinate with the Transportation Services Dispatchers to optimize port operations (linehaul boat turns, shifts to and from docks, cleaning facilities, shipyards, etc.).
Manages utilization of SIUT (Linehaul) and Unit vessels when locally available.
Work with Port Captains, Captains and Vendors to ensure safe and efficient vessel performance.
II RESPONSIBILITIES
The Houston Fleet Manager has the following responsibilities:
Communicate closely with the West Canal Dispatcher(s) located in New Orleans and Port Operations personnel located in Sulphur, LA.
Meet with customer facility personnel to improve CBC service in the Houston area.
Responsible for other duties as required.
Ability to work flexible hours including but not limited to night and weekend shifts.
III LOCATION
Must live in the Greater Houston Area.
Works at the fleet location in a restricted-secure facility.
IV. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Experience in dispatch/transportation services
Inland Boat/Barge Operations experience
Management experience preferred
Proficiency in computer and clerical duties (email, web-based software, adobe, office)
Proficiency in TowWorks software preferred, but willingness to learn required
Must currently hold TWIC or have ability to get one upon acceptance of position
Must be able to get Houston Safety Council Basic Plus and Stolt Houston training upon acceptance of position
