Your Responsibilities

As an OFP Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will:

• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects impacting safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and ergonomic improvements for department
• Establish routings, SOE (sequence of events), layouts, tooling, assembly costs, OMS, and control plans for revisions to current operations
• Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT to perform engineering functions
• Design tooling and fixturing for assembly and welding operations

What Skills You Need

• 2 or more years of CAD software experience
• 2 or more years working and communicating in a team of salary and wage employees.
• 1 or more years implementing new manufacturing processes and technology
• 2 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, reliability, design, manufacturing, or quality
• 1 or more years working in a manufacturing processes and working in a production environment
• 1 or more years of experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, Labor Standards, and Operator Methods Sheets)

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development
• Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan)
• Experience working in a union environment
• Experience with JDAAT MES systems
• Experience with torque tooling
• Experience with Creo View software
• Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Operations Management discipline
