OurUT Health Tylerhospital is seeking an experiencedSterile Processing Tech. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in ourSterile Processingdepartment where you will be responsible for:What You Will Be Doing:


  1. Disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique under direct supervision

  2. Complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies

  3. Assist in maintaining and processing patient charge records and maintaining department inventory


Education:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
Experience:

  • Requires extensive knowledge of practices regarding Decontamination, Sterilization, and Instrument Storage.


  • Requires knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, infection control practices and standards, as well as anatomy.


  • Requires knowledge of State and Federal regulations and Professional Recommended Practices.



  • Customer friendly

  • Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Active listening, hearing and visual skills

  • Must use written and/or verbal sources of information

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

  • Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions

  • Demonstrates good team work

Certification and Licensure:
  • National Certification strongly preferred
