The Product Assurance Engineer I performs assessment of issues related to Voice, Video, and Data services and reviews configuration issues that could result in loss of connectivity, degradation of performance or service outages. The Product Assurance Engineer I supports corrective actions to prevent impairment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
Provides support to basic incidents and outages
Completes assigned tasks to help with planning of Assurance projects that support bringing more visibility of our services.
Maintain the health of the network and its services on a daily basis through utilizing health check tools and running validation scripts.
Review Service Performance and Health Reports
Provide 24x7 escalation support to WOW NOC in support of MTTR goals
Support and assist lead engineer with maintenance activities for service technologies
Maintain error logs and provide resolutions to problems
Update site-specific daily logs
Troubleshoot hardware failures and server issues
Validate hardware and software
Perform checks on network and service backup plan
Monitors network/services and respond to issues using defined methods and procedures in place.
Perform operational support for the infrastructure and applications supporting the provisioning and management of our services including platforms such as DNS, BAC Provisioning, Content Delivery Networks, and Orchestration Platforms
Other duties as assigned

-Education:
BS required or equivalent work experience
-Experience/Skills Needed:
0-3 years' work experience in technology
Work experience in the telecommunications industry preferred
Ability to effectively learn and utilize internal applications: IP Management System, Performance Management, Analytic and Correlation Engine, Grafana, and the Switch Interface Tool.
Knowledge of video systems such as but not limited toCisco EC7 Controller, Motorola Dac Controller, Video Encoder /Decoder and Media Converters required
Basic understanding of IP Networks and Subnetting
Basic understanding of IP Multicast
Basic Knowledge of CDN networks
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand process flow
Basic Knowledge of RF/headend Architecture
RF/Qam Experience Basic Understanding of AC and DC power Plants
Must be proficient with industry standard test equipment
Telecommunications experience is preferred in the areas of VOIP, UC, IP Networking, server support/administration, web development, or any combination thereof.
Familiarity with complex UC network configurations including both VOIP and TDM implementations, out-of-band signaling including ISDN, SS7/sigtran, MGCP, SIP, H.248, XMPP, and IP networking fundamentals including TCP, UDP, RTP, DNS, TFTP, DHCP,IPV4, IPV6, and SCTP.
Familiarity with network tracing software such as wireshark
Experience with the OSI model particularly as it relates to what functions affect or impact unified communications services

Microsoft Applications i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Google Application Suite i.e. Drive
Service NOW Ticket Systems
