Coordinates activities of manufacturing workers to achieve the goals of the department and company by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures that a safe work environment is present for all employees. This includes checking machine safety and cleanliness of workspace. Trains employees in safe operation of machines and general safety procedures.

Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow to insure OTD to subsequent work orders and/or customers. Assigns duties, issues written and oral instructions. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of area personnel. Coaches and trains employees.

Verifies that correct production techniques are utilized for high productivity and yields. Ensures proper quality reference and tool usage and initiates tool and jig repair as required.

Verifies quality of all goods produced. Checks orders for accuracy and compliance to requirements. Performs quality inspection throughout order runs as required by quality department.

Accounts for material usage and time applied to direct and indirect jobs to > 90% of time paid. Ensures adherence to production efficiency standards and yields. Reports deviations from yield and standard labor hours. Seeks corrections to deviations.

Checks for effectiveness of job routers. Recommends modifications to ensure consistency of quality and productivity.

Supports the implementation of continuous improvement objectives to maximize manufacturing efficiencies and throughput.

Leads by example exhibits teamwork, cooperation and compliance with company rules.

Make recommendations regarding efficiency and effectiveness of personnel within the department, and actively promote continuous improvement.


Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring and recording employees time on tasks; addressing or directing employee questions or issues to management.
