Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client, a leading global media company that is seeking a Senior Associate, SEC Reporting. They will be responsible for assisting in ensuring regulatory compliance with SEC reporting requirements and to ensure adherence to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and any other newly emerging FASB and regulatory requirements in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A to ensure timely and accurate filings

  • Assist with detailed Xtensible Business

  • Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and footnotes

  • Documentation and testing of internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

  • Assist in the valuation and expense recognition of equity-based compensation

  • Assistance with the expense recognition of pension and other postretirement benefits

  • Assistance with the preparation of goodwill and identifiable intangible annual impairment test

  • Assisting with the assessment of new SEC/GAAP pronouncements, preparing position papers on the impact to News Corporation and amending the reporting process accordingly

  • Research and documentation of technical accounting inquiries and related disclosure requirements

  • Provide direct support on various special projects







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • CPA preferred

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, public or private

  • SEC reporting experience preferred

  • Experience preparing footnote disclosures and accounting memos Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Must be comfortable working independently and in a team environment

  • Detail-oriented

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
