Job Description:


To lead Maintenance personnel and provide shop floor support.

Position Responsibility

Lead Maintenance group

Manufacturing process

Design tooling and fixtures

Answer customer corrective actions

Proved support to shop floor

Forecast and control budget requirements for the Maintenance department

Provide operator training, work instructions, and process control plans for implemented projects and improvements

Responsible for critical spare parts, order, track and store stock parts required to maintain production needs

Verify PM's are completed, add and modify PM's as needed to maintain production needs

Plan and manage daily, weekly, and yearly repairs for production

Budget, track and control monthly overtime for department

Control and maintain shop floor software and hardware as related to maintenance

Assist the Quality department with resolving process related Quality defects relating to production

Initiate, plan, design, and implement improvements to current processes to ensure productivity, quality and safety

Maintain and improve manufacturing processes and error proofing systems

Must have the ability to interact with others and take the lead role in a team environment

Communicate improvements to Quality and Manufacturing departments

Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change

Use our Innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant

Be proactively involved with improving working conditions


Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them

Lead area in achieving plant Quality objectives/goals

100% on-time delivery to customer

Target 0 PPM on parts for all our customers (Metalsa and customer standard: 25 or less PPM)

Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them


Maintain the appearance of a World Class Facility

Actively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained

Continuous Improvement/Training

Actively involved with the Metalsa Model Practices and MOS Principle

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear

The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle of touch

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to visually focus

Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business or other related field with 3-5 years of experience or 5+ years of experience

Minimum of 5 years background in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance

Minimum of 5 years background in Electrical Maintenance

Proven supervisory experience in manufacturing environment

Administrative & Human Skills

Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, planning, team orientation and people skill developer

Good organization and time management skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude

Identify problem solving initiatives

Ability to manage effectively under any situation - capable of performing in a fast paced, high stress environment

Technical Skills

Equipment Maintenance: hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable controllers and motion control, machine shop

Industrial Safety

Welding Automation Knowledge

Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, etc.)
