Full -Time Night Shift

Schedule: 7:00pm - 7:00am

Location: NGMC Gainesville S1B Neuro/Renal

S1B Stroke IMC (Intermediate Care Unit) is a 12-bed unit with all private rooms. Patients receive physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial support for themselves and their families. As a stroke IMC unit, care is provided for stroke patients including but not limited to:

• Stroke patients requiring more frequent monitoring.

• Suspected and/or active CVA, TIA

• Ischemic stroke s/p IV tPA >24 hours

• Acute stroke symptom onset not tPA candidate < 24 hours

•Ischemic Stroke of indeterminate age requiring inpatient stroke care management

• Non-crescendo TIAs where workup not completed

Job Summary:

Provides clerical support for a nursing unit(s). Prepares and maintains records for the unit and serves as a facilitator for all communications. The unit secretary functions under the direction of the charge nurse. This position will communicate with patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlines in policy and procedures.


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • No previous experience required. Clerical or administrative experience preferred. On-the-job training in practice and procedures of the hospital and medical terminology is provided.
