The University of Miami Health Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the coordination of the day to day clinic activities within the areas of responsibility. The Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients, under the direction of a physician. Moreover, the incumbent interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. The Medical Assistant (U) also draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. This position will perform duties under the direction of the RN's, with minimal supervision.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



Education/Credentials/License and Certifications



  • Hight School Diploma preferred






Vocational/Technical School Training



  • In-house programs in Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, phlebotomy, EKG



  • One-year program in Medical Assistant,



Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG.



Certification/Licensure:



  • BLS certification for Health Care Providers

  • Certified Medical Assistant






Experience:



Minimum one year experience in an outpatient clinic setting, outpatient department and/or private medical office preferred.
