This position is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of about 20 people, including cooks and food service associates. RD is required.
Manages operations of the multi functional food service area and department. Develops, reviews and takes action to improve performance metrics. Develops budgets, work plans and staffing initiatives to effectively manage the department.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Recruits, interviews, promotes, disciplines, and terminates staff. Sets performance standards and goals for direct reports and the department. Evaluates and counsels staff on their performance. Monitors workload statistics to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Provides for the education needs of the staff.
Collaborates with leadership in the development, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to maintain compliance with any changes to federal, state, local, or other regulatory requirements.
Directs the daily operations of the department, including but not limited to menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory and preparation to ensure staff has the appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform job duties. Establishes operating standards to implement quality improvements and communicates to both staff and ministry leadership.
Assists to maintain cash controls and payroll functions for the department.
Adheres to HACCP guidelines and complies with all safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent
Five years' experience, with two years' in leadership
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
