Job Summary:
Manages the day-to-day operations of assigned accounting area(s) of the organization which is to process transactions, provide analysis and reporting, and to resolve escalated issues. Ensures transactions and the organization's requests are handled in a manner that achieves the optimal balance between cost/efficiency and service delivery.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements and continuously improves policies, procedures, and processes. Develops templates necessary to support operations.
Resolves escalated or complex issues that require managerial intervention or involve other process areas.
Reports on metrics in order to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of process area. Emphasizes key performance indicators and metrics for general accounting. Ensures delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all contractual service level agreements and managing General Accounting costs.
Monitors regulatory environment to stay abreast of compliance requirements and to propose internal control standards.
Manages accounting reporting requirements of assigned area(s). Utilizes reporting tools to gain operational insight in order to identify and manage problems and propose resolutions.
Completes more complex accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to, journal entries, allocations, eliminations, and consolidations.
Responsible for management functions including activities related to staffing such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation determination.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE
Five years' experience, with two years in leadership
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Rare climbing.
