Position Title:  Student Affairs Training Program Developer (Student
Services Advisor)



Department:  Student Affairs



Salary Link:  Exempt - C42

Position Summary: 



The Student Affairs Training Program Developer serves as the lead to
provide training for Student Affairs staff by developing,
coordinating, collaborating, and implementing district-wide workshops and
training sessions, and re-establishing the Pima Community College AdviZing
training model, based on National Academic Advising Association Core Values and
Advisor Competencies. This position also provides academic advising by
maintaining a student caseload for Liberal Arts students; researches,
collects, updates and interprets information; prepares and
submits reports; and assists the Student Affairs leadership team in
planning and program development. This position will support the Downtown
Campus Student Services Center and will be part of the staffing rotation for
providing same day advising services. This position also provides support to the First Year
Experience Program.




A flexible work schedule including evenings
and weekends is required for this position.





Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Primary Student Affairs Trainer for academic
    advising and enrollment services training
    for Student Affairs staff by developing, coordinating,
    collaborating, and implementing district-wide workshops and training
    sessions, and re-establishing the Pima Community College AdviZing training
    model, based on National Academic



  • Advising Association Core Values and Advisor
    Competencies.



  • Develops, implements, coordinates, and
    collaborates on workshops and training programs in a variety of
    modalities including in person and online for Student Affairs
    staff College-wide.



  • Manage a Liberal Arts student caseload, providing academic
    advising to include four-year transfer information and course
    selection; and provide information about certificates, degrees
    and College services, as well as develops student educational plans.
     



  • Serve with Downtown Campus Student Affairs
    Leadership team to support Student Services Center operations. 



  • Researches and
    recommends resolutions for complex student advising concerns.



  • Participates in College and community
    committees, workshops, meetings, training sessions, taskforces, and
    conferences. 



  • Provides technical information and
    interpretation of College policies, practices, and
    procedures; information on best practices and trends in student
    development theory; and Federal and state laws and regulations to
    students, staff, faculty, administration, and the general public.



  • Analyzes confidential student
    information; identifies issues and discrepancies; and formulates
    recommendations for appropriate action based on findings. 



  • Researches, interprets, updates, and
    maintains confidential student records.  



  • Conducts student transactions utilizing
    the College student information system.



  • Monitors and evaluates student and
    academic services operations and processes; measures quality of service;
    recommends improvements and
    modifications; and prepares related reports.  



  • Collects and analyzes information
    and statistics relating to student
    services; summarizes findings; prepares reports; and
    makes recommendations.  





  • Perform other related duties as
    assigned.

Job Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field


  • One year experience in student affairs
    providing academic advising services and group presentations





Preferred:




  • Experience with planning, leading, and
    facilitating staff professional development training



  • Two years experience in student affairs
    providing academic advising services



  • Knowledge of Banner, Degree Works, Starfish
    preferred.
