We are seeking Masons experienced in laying limestone rock and cinder block to join our team at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX. Starting pay for qualified candidates is $28/hr.

Nature of Work
Mason is responsible for working under the supervision of the Mason Foreman and is responsible for assisting with preparing, completing, masonry, block, and rock for commercial application in an competent manner, promote jobsite safety, provide excellent work ethic, and exhibit pride and quality craftsmanship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Specialize in masonry work


• Perform construction activities such as laying block, limestone, and daily construction activities


• Attend training and safety meetings, adhering to all guidelines


• Follow direct orders given by the Foreman


• Work constructively as part of a team


• Sustain punctuality and a good attendance record


• Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain base access to Fort Hood Military Base 


• Must pass a criminal background check and drug test


• Ability to work with masonry hand tools and power equipment 


• Must be able to work a 5-day schedule; may include weekends and holidays

Education
High school diploma or equivalent 

Physical Demands

• Physical demands for this position are heavy. Employees may be lifting moderately heavy material or equipment (up to 50 pounds).


• Ability to stand, kneel, and/or bend for an extended period of time


• Ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures, humidity, and rain

Work Environment
Standard project site environment that may include machinery, parts, and chemicals. May require protective gear.
