Job Description:

We are seeking a Home Loans Sales Assistant for the Home Loan Processing Department.

The Home Loans Sales Assistants will be responsible for establishing an exceptional member experience through their knowledge of our home loan products and other offerings as well as basic underwriting expectations and items that may be required for loan approval. This role will be the initial point of contact through the multiple delivery channels which include ACD Queue, Branch Referrals, calls from branches, walk-in customers, calls from Member Services and LP Application.

As part of their duties, the job incumbent will also be responsible for providing pre-qualification letters to members or potential borrowers who are shopping for a new home.  They will manage these leads until the member has given us a complete application at which time it would be referred to the Home Loan Originators.

The Home Loans Sales Assistants should have a solid mortgage origination background and is expected to exhibit the ability to solve problems as they develop. The role requires understanding and continued education of all internal and external policies and procedures, federal and state laws and insurer requirements.

  • Perform audits to verify compliance by ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal and external regulation and guidelines

Experience:

    Required


  • 2 years of experience in sales and/or processing (residential loan lending)

  • General knowledge of mortgages (mortgage calculations, mortgage underwriting, or Texas equities)

    Preferred


  • Underwriting experience

Education:

    Required


  • High School diploma or equivalent

    Preferred


  • College degree

Licenses & Certifications:

    Required


  • Requires eligibility to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Federal Registry

   Preferred


  • NMLS registered

    • Maintain knowledge and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, practices and guidelines;

    • Maintain manuals, training materials and tools that support regulatory knowledge and awareness;

    • Giving best advice and keeping the Home Loans Management informed on divisional matters, trends and risks;

    • Meet defined deadlines and performance measures;

    • Adding new skills and capabilities relevant to both his/her personal growth needs and the organization’s future needed capabilities

    • Collaborate with department members to achieve defined goals and quality standards;

    • Collaborate and participate in department and cross divisional team meetings and feedback sessions to promote continuous learning and development
