Arconic is currently in search of an Assistant Controller, Treasury Transactions to join our Treasury Department in Pittsburgh, PA.

This assistant controller role in the Global Treasury Department is responsible for derivative and treasury transaction accounting and ensuring that Treasury Management Systems are functioning as expected as it relates to GAAP accounting and in accordance with regulatory requirements. The position will support the Trading Desk and Treasury team with controls and analysis as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate across functions, help drive process improvement initiatives and provide analysis.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversight of the Treasury Accounting processes. Coordinating with Treasury Managers, Financial Services and the Treasury Back Office to ensure that the processes are in control and properly accounted.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Treasury, Financial Services, & other Corporate/Business Unit Teams to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Developing new and maintaining existing hedge documentation and supporting analysis for multiple financial products with an emphasis on cash flow hedge accounting.
  • Support the Commodity Trading Desk by verifying activities are within policy guidelines.
  • Support the Trading Desk and Treasury Managers in developing strategies to address the companies risks.
  • Responsible for the Internal Control environment including direct communication with Internal and External Audit Managers.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of management action plans to remediate any issues and to drive changes in the control environment to ensure future compliance.
  • Lead process improvement projects to achieve world-class performance
  • Project leadership of key Treasury initiatives including cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' of work experience in treasury, hedging, or accounting.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited MBA or other advanced degree program or Certified Public Accountant license.
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles: knowledge of U.S. and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with specific attention to financial transactions
  • Transaction/Business Knowledge: ability to quickly grasp financial risk management and capital market activities.
  • Financial Systems: Knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting applications.
  • Microsoft Applications: Proficient use of products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint to analyze and communicate.
  • Process Controls: Ability to analyze systems and processes to identify effective and efficient controls to ensure stability.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders and customers.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Disciplined Execution: Job requires partnering with other Corporate functions and Business Units. When required, he/she will need to be able to dive into details to ensure financial success
  • Integrity: Job requires being honest and ethical.
