The purpose of the Project Manager is to lead The Chicago Lighthouse through the pre-development phase, construction phase, and operational phase of The Chicago Lighthouse Residences, slated to be the first LIHTC building in the country for those who are blind or visually impaired.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Study and work to understand The Chicago Lighthouse Residences project from inception to now;
Work with the Senior Project Manager to coordinate with the Residence Task Force, Lighthouse legal counsel, Residence development team, and all other parties involved in the pre-development phase, construction phase, and operational phase of The Chicago Lighthouse Residences;
Record minutes and take detailed notes during meetings;
Keep a detailed record of the wishes of The Board regarding The Chicago Lighthouse Residences;
Strategize with the Senior Project Manager and Residence Task Force when needed;
Assist Senior Project Manager with overall project delivery, keeping track of documents and deadlines, representing The Lighthouses interests at all times;
Keep track of all project-related paperwork; ensure all needed materials are current and properly filed and stored;
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity;
Produce written and visual materials for reports and presentations;
Produce weekly updates for the Residence Task Force in accordance with the Director of Project Management;
Communicate timeline changes and new information to the Residence Task Force; track project changes and adjust schedules as needed;
Strategize with the Residence Task Force when needed;
Schedule meetings with the development partner; meet regularly with the development partner on status;
Assist Senior Project Manager to negotiate the donation of land transaction and all other transactions needed to move the project forward;
All other duties related to The Chicago Lighthouse Residences, as assigned;
Acts in The Lighthouses best interest at all times.
Background in real estate;
Knowledge of real estate transactions; and risks associated;
Experience managing residential business development processes preferred;
Must have proven experience driving results and working independently;
Execution-focused; a professional who can work independently;
Ability to successfully perform as both an effective team member and leader in a fast-paced environment;
Must have proven ability to exercise solid judgment within broadly defined practices;
Acts to promote collaborative team environment within projects;
Reacts positively to change, cooperating readily with revised methods and priorities;
Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
Must posses a strong ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate various activities to meet deadlines;
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with project management, database and research tools and software a plus;
