Job Description:

Tetra Tech's downtown Chicago, IL office is seeking an engineering or environmental science intern to learn the general principles of environmental consulting and develop skills related to their program of study. This individual will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of areas in environmental consulting including:

• Natural resource management.
• Environmental Engineering.
• Disaster management planning.
• Hazardous waste management.

Tasks will Include, but are not limited to:

• Data management and organizaiton.
• Interpret and record data, conduct analyses.
• Field Support.
• Will work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
• Assist with report production and file management activities.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a Junior or Senior working toward a BS/BA degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as environmental science, environmental engineering, or geology. In addition, the successful candidate will have/be:

• Currently in pursuit of, or recently obtained, a BS/BA or MS in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, chemistry, data management or other scientific field).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• A problem solver and have an interest and ability to work in a collaborative manner, and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check.
• Enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and a positive attitude.
• Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet software, and databases preferred.
