This position is on a federal Ability One contract that requires most of the work hours are performed by employees with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this particular position needs to be filled by a person meeting the Ability One criteria.

Overview

• This position involves installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.


• Perform task by using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.


• This position involves working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.


• Be available to be on call for after hours emergency maintenance duty and work overtime as required.


• Lift, pull, push and/or manipulate objects as required.

Requirements

• Master Electrician license preferred but not required.


• A minimum of five (5)years related experience in classroom and/or Industrial/Commercial electrical field.


• Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as, preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, visual inspection involving small defects and/or operation of machines.


• Must have the Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.


• A valid drivers license, good driving record and be insurable under the Center's policy required.


• Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Physical Requirements

• May travel to and from various locations and building throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Work will take place indoors.


• Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.


• Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours; as well as weekends and Holidays.


• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
