Reporting to the Director of Global Capital Procurement, this individual would be responsible for the lifecycle of procured project/capital investments (front end to back end), working together with the Business Segment's operations and engineering teams to achieve shared goals and targets. Position Profile: The Capital Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying and assessing value driven opportunities together with Capital Procurement Director and Business Segment leads. This individual will develop and execute cost avoidance strategies for defined and agreed opportunities by using state-of-the-art measures, including, but not limited to: Designed-to-cost initiatives, Target costing, Product Re-engineering, Scope revisions, Benchmarking efforts, Material and Product substitution, negotiated savings, and leveraging.

Essential Functions : The Capital Procurement Specialist position includes both the execution of strategic vision and tactical management, including execution of the following essential functions, examples include but are not limited to:


  • Assist in the management of current project portfolio, and implementation and on-going management of new sourcing initiatives
  • Get involved at stage gate FEL 0/1 (idea phase, data collection) to assess baselines for project/capital spend and supports development and improvement of business cases on cost side
  • Drive standardization strategies into Capital developments
  • Drive the avoidance of "single source situations" into the project development process
  • Conduct market analyses on material, product, and process innovations
  • Assess make-or-buy business cases for select projects/capital spends

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Institution.
  • 5 years minimum experience relevant to capital projects or similar environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee .
