Synthetic Molecule Design and Development (SMDD) has an exciting opportunity for an analytical chemist to join our process development organization. You will be part of a diverse team of analytical chemists, chemical engineers and synthetic chemists delivering product and process understanding across a broad range of platforms.

The ideal candidate will have breadth in multiple analytical techniques used in the analysis of synthetic molecules (UPLC, HPLC, MS, IR, UV). Must be computer savvy with the ability to navigate multiple instrument control software and data analysis environments, have strong technical problem-solving ability, and have an internal motivation to work independently and achieve efficient, quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Engage with an integrated team of scientists across development and manufacturing organizations to advance portfolio assets and enable new process technologies.

  • Apply a wide range of analytical techniques to support the development of synthetic pharmaceutical molecules.

  • Implement ground-breaking analytical technologies for real-time analysis of pharmaceutical processes.

  • Use strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation to contribute across multiple projects.

  • Communicate both technical and business-related implications of your work using strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/MS + 3 years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemistry

Additional Skills/Preferences:


  • Reversed phase chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, chiral chromatography.

  • Hands-on experience with high-resolution mass spectrometry methods.

  • Experience with data interpretation, management, and integration.

  • Ability to learn and apply technical knowledge to meet changing project needs.

  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize work to meet interpersonal and scientific goals.

  • Ability to balance multiple activities, prioritize and handle ambiguity.
