Position will be in the Midwest region and will travel throughout the designated region 50%+ of the time.

Your skills and experience will be key to employee development and success through implementation of programs that drive change awareness, enable operations process adoption and sustainability of new or enhanced policies, systems, technology, and organizational changes. Your work will support LTL's business goals and Field Annual Operations plans.

What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Utilize multiple learning and communication delivery approaches (simulations, on-the-job training, coaching, instructor-led classroom training, eLearning, etc.) to ensure effective implementation of onboarding and operations programs such as JumpStart New Hire Orientation, Freight Leadership and Dock Operations certification training, as well as compliance courses

  • Support the new hire onboarding process by establishing training schedules, tracking onboarding requirements and coordinating with HR, driver trainers and dockworker trainers

  • Assist the Learning and Development team with consistent delivery and adoption of learning solutions, as well as revising and creating new programs

  • Recommend appropriate training methods or activities based on the audience, environment, and content; partner with instructional designers to create content

  • Act as an employee advocate across our Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Service Delivery Centers, leveraging your insight and knowledge of employee roles to bring positive change to the organization

  • Gather ideas from employees, hold brainstorming sessions, conduct cross-functional planning meetings, and implement an internal feedback loop to ensure employees are heard and know their ideas are having an impact

  • Establish partnerships with IT, Operations and Learning and Development to assess, identify and measure training needs through all steps of an impending program


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 5 years of related work experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience

  • LTL industry experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Availability to travel 50% of time


It'd be great if you also have:

  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and occasional weekends

  • Experience as a training coordinator, trainer, training facilitator or similar role

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone)

  • Change management experience, including end-to-end change adoption

  • Excellent facilitation skills and a passion for delivering highly engaging learning sessions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of empathy, patience, flexibility and diplomacy; ability to collaborate, influence and partner effectively with a diverse employee base and executive leadership to motivate change and get results in a very large, dispersed organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to communication plans, provide coaching to employees and convey feedback to various roles and levels within the organization

  • The capability to deal with ambiguity and navigate uncertain situations while seeking clarity; capacity to work calmly and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced, high-speed environment

  • Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis, problem-solving and reporting
