POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The purpose of this internship is to potentially identify genetic disposition to “super response” to inline products (e.g. daramumab, rituximab) which may serve as part of combination therapies for Takeda pipeline assets which currently have overlapping indications (i.e. DLBCL et c.).
This may be accomplished in one of two ways:
Literature review to identify known differential response between genetic groups, both clinical trials and observational data Review of available published and unpublished -omics data in humans
The therapies and indications are to be decided on based on the needs of Global Evidence and Outcomes, potentially in collaboration with Translational Medicine and the clinical sub-teams of different assets.
The individual will conduct a literature review using PubMed on papers documenting differences in responses to therapy based on genetic responses, either in mutations in the cancer (somatic) or within the individual (germ line). If the candidate has the appropriate background he/ she will review data from papers or analyze publicly available data (e.g. ClinGen) using statistical software to compare differential response to cancer therapies.
