The Buyer/Planner III is a part of our Global Supply Chain organization and is responsible for the planning and execution of material supply, in alignment with short-term and long-term production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the material management strategy to support the company's business and financial objectives.
Able to consistently deliver products and services to meet customer requirements.
Monitor inventory levels to avoid excess inventory, inventory shortages, and inventory expiration.
Manage purchases orders through their entire life cycle, including placement & invoice discrepancy reconciliations.
Continuously engage with suppliers for change in order status' including scheduled ship dates.
Ensure supplier backorders are resolved in a timely manner without stock-outs.
Monitor global FMI inventory & leverage intracompany transfers to avoid stock-outs when necessary.
Monitor FMI's material consumption trends and work with Lab Operations to form predictive consumption BOMs to better predict future material demand.
Drive forecasting models aligned to FMI's strategic growth plans to ensure supplier network has visibility to FMI's future needs.
Develop and enhance existing Supply Chain planning tools to reduce inventory carrying costs, improve forecasting accuracy and drive automation.
Partner with Procurement team to help facilitate strong working relationships with suppliers.
Collaborate with Procurement and Finance on RMA process for returns to vendors.
Collaborate with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure the timely release of materials.
Collaborate with R&D, Development Operations, and Lab Operations to ensure that material changes and process improvements are well executed with minimal scrap costs.
Maintain availability to work outside of a regularly scheduled shift.
Travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of professional work experience
4+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operation Management, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience with Supply Chain Operations & Inventory Planning
3+ years of Supply Chain Management experience in a pharmaceutical, life science, or GMP regulated industry
2+ years of experience in Procurement or Supplier Management
APICS/ASCM certification in Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Knowledge and experience in all aspects of Supply Chain Management, shipping & receiving, logistics, production control, planning, and inventory management
Experience with Excel tool development using VBA, SQL or any other scripting language
Lean Six Sigma Experience with Yellow or Green Belt certification
Strong analytical skillset and detail-oriented work ethic
Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially with Excel
Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies, and work environment
Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of privacy of patient data
