Cash Application Specialist - Job Description

Primary duties of the position:

• Daily application of cash receipts to customer accounts in A/R subledger for various lockboxes through bank download


• Reconcile and apply credit card payments from customers based on merchant service reporting


• Month end closing procedures associated with cash receipts including preparation of monthly cash receipts reconciliation


• Assist Credit Managers with investigating account discrepancies and managing unapplied cash receipts for timely resolution


• Maintain relationships with Credit department and banks to resolve cash application issues


• Assist Finance department with special projects and bank audits


• Process remote desktop deposits for Non-AR cash receipts

Education/ Experience:

• Associate degree in Finance or Accounting


• At least 5 years of work experience in cash application

Skills:

• Knowledge in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables), knowledge in SAP is a plus


• Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties


• Must have good communication skills and be well organized
