As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will be responsible for the detailed design and development of structural aircraft components through the product life cycle, from concept to requirements, detailed design, build, test, and production. In this role you will need a strong working knowledge of CAD design and are capable of creating detailed models. In this fast-paced culture, on any given day you will perform trade studies, derive requirements, complete hand calc and FEM analysis of structures, perform stress analysis of internal loads, support test execution, analyze test results, or mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from an accredited University.


• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record, developing products through a full product life cycle - concept, prototype, validated design, and scaled production.


• Demonstrated CAD proficiency


• Extensive experience with composite structural design


• Experience in performing airframe structural analysis via a combination of classical hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis


• Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM systems


• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to integrate state-of-the-art design and manufacturing methods into product concepts and designs.


• Experience developing and working to system requirements.


• Capable of simplifying a complex problem and provide an initial analysis to scope critical constraints and feature sizing.


• Demonstrated ability to prototype quickly and effectively, using iterative cycles to down-select multiple concepts down to one in 1-2 weeks.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Self-motivated, team player.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with OnShape or CATIA 3DExperience


• Experience with designing to aerospace or automotive level validation standards


• Experience with Google G -Suite and Slack
