The Senior Reporting Analyst is responsible for leveraging data expertise to lead internal stakeholders through assessment, creation, and delivery of analytics that enable effective day-to-day and strategic enterprise portfolio decisions. The individual will organize, explore, and analyze complex data to drive decisions by identifying and analyzing trends, providing recommendations and insights, facilitating cross-functional discussions, and presenting results to key stakeholders while effectively explaining the meaning of the information being provided and partnering strategically to raise the bar on delivery, performance, and compliance. This role requires hands-on analytical, data science, and data explorations kills to deliver insights from ad-hoc through executive level dashboards and must have fundamental knowledge of Telecom business and portfolio management techniques, project delivery and operation disciplines so data and reporting are correctly positioned to reflect business needs and drive value.
  • Coordinate with data source teams, as well as data science professionals to ensure analytics approaches are based on sound data science fundamentals. Ensure data lineage and data governance principles are adhered to in all analytics output.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the Enterprise Portfolio department to develop strategies for reporting and metric requirements while keep current with Delivery and IT process and system changes to proactively understand impact to base data and reports.
  • Work independently to analyze and interpret data needs, determines scope and report / analysis content; maintain regular communication and coordinate with stakeholders throughout.
  • Design, develop and produce analytical data/reporting to be used for informational, decision, and planning purposes.
    • Ensure data quality in all data sources and reporting applications
    • Leverage technical delivery knowledge to connect metrics and company results in a meaningful way
    • Leverage data model, database, and data governance knowledge to create strong recommendations that effectively measure and hold internal and external teams accountable
    • Proactively anticipate information that will be of assistance to evaluate trends and support decision making
    • Create, automate, and schedule reports for tracking trends and patterns
    • Present both written and oral in a clear, concise, meaningful way for use up to Senior Level Executives
    • Implement and enforce controls that ensure data accuracy while enabling the preservation of historical data
  • Apply statistical analysis to analyze variances and assess trends & statistical significance, providing insight into possible root causes and recommending next steps.
  • Recommend new ways of leveraging information to improve business processes and results.
  • Design, maintain, and streamline the reporting ecosystem to enable evolution of reporting to meet growing business needs. Serve as a technical expert on in-house business intelligence/reporting tool solutions.
  • Audit and validate reports with internal partners to inform management of possible actions.
  • Evaluate environmental variables and business market conditions to ensure best and cutting-edge practices are in place that align to the business needs and strategies.
  • Support financial reporting of projects, as needed.

  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in reporting and analytics.
  • College degree, specialized training, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with internal/external partners to evaluate their needs.
  • Well-developed analytical and quantitative skills with ability to research, interpret, and transform data into actionable insights as well as make recommendations that translate to improved business results.
  • Proven statistical analysis skills to better understand data significance, quality and applicability.
  • Good knowledge of R, C or Python programming skills.
  • Strong SQL and noSQL development experience on at least one major platform.
  • Strong/expert experience within at least one industry standard Business Intelligence tool.
  • Knowledge of database performance factors and monitoring tools.
  • Experience and advanced knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniques.
  • Technical acumen in one or more Information Technology disciplines.
  • Strong oral and written communication, and excellent listening skills. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously and quickly adapt to a changing, complex environment.
  • Exceptional time and project management experience, including the ability to break down complex problems into milestones, prioritize work, maintain progress, and communicate status as well as results across stakeholder teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience leveraging various delivery models with high visibility/responsibility to stakeholders.
  • Experience in telecommunications (wireless preferred).
  • Prior experience in IT or Service Level Management.
  • Prior experience working in diverse cross-functional, cross-departmental and vendor projects and technologies.
  • Technical Delivery management/knowledge.
