Proposal Manager at Professional Contract Services Inc

Location: Austin, Texas





Job Description:
The overall responsibilities fall into the following areas:
  • Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined time frames.
  • Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from operations, sales, marketing, finance, rehab, contracting, HR, and legal.
  • Communicate and influence at a senior level.
  • Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practice.
  • Proposal automation software (or similar) experience.
  • Document template management in line with company branding.
  • Scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, key review meetings / final document review, and coordinating proposal governance / sign off, and document production.
  • Assist with maintaining the Business Development databases.
  • Support business development and marketing activities, including trade/ conferences, mailings, etc.
  • Participation in the Performance Evaluation program is required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.

Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in proposal management, development and delivery.
  • Working knowledge in technical business proposals (Government and Commercial).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Government Contracting strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and software.
  • Operations of Windows applications and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong ability to communicate, orally and in writing.
  • Strong time management / prioritization skills.
  • Strong written English language skills.

  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Physical Demands
  • This is primarily a sedentary position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 20 pounds or less.
  • Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
  • Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
  • Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.

Working Conditions
  • Limited travel required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass criminal and motor vehicle checks.
  • Work is performed primarily indoors.
